Divisions Return in 2026

A new division set-up has been approved for 2026 and beyond. The league will split into 2 conferences, each with 2 divisions. The NFL has been division-less for 4 seasons now, removing them after the 2021 season in favor of open scheduling and playoffs.

This new format will see some teams move from their historic conferences from 2021. The Sharks, Kraken and Victinis are all new arrivals to the AFC. and the Nightmare and Trash Pandas flip to the NFC. All 6 sibling/family rivalries are now in division. The greatest loss to the new format will be the 3-way division bro rivalry between the Panthers, Coins, and Sharks. All 3 teams now feature in separate divisions, with the Panthers and Coins scheduled to play twice in 2026.

Changes will be made to the weekly and post season awards in 2026 to better reflect this split and have more rewards.
